I think Swinney will be safe at Clemson through 2010 but only if he has .500 seasons in 2009 and 2010 or better. That school simply isn't willing to get into another coaching fiasco at this early date. I can't say the same for Virginia. If Groh continues his losing ways, he's a goner by year end. My personal opinion is that UVa should ask him to remain as defensive coordinator and relinquish head coaching duties to one of his assistants or maybe hire someone. Defense is Groh's expertise and he is good at it but it's doubtful his ego will allow such a dimunition of status.

- Mark Brunell has never had a stellar season in his career. -

You must have an exceedingly unusual definition of the term 'stellar season'...

Michael Phelps: If anyone looks to him as a role model they're probably stoned. Kirk Ferentz will be the next K.C. head coach. Who is Jameer Nelson anyway?

Only one thing matters in college football- money. That's it. nothing else. no decision is made in any way shape or form without figuring out the financial impact. If it loses money, no go. the powers that be don't want to lose their money. Changing the system guarantees more money in college football, but more of it being dispersed evenly instead of to just htme and hteir conference. Its freakin ridiculous and they call it a sport...
